OtterBots is a student robotics website. We minimize personal information, do not operate advertising or behavioral analytics on this site, and clearly identify services provided by other organizations.

What this site collects
OtterBots.org is primarily a static informational website. It does not currently provide account registration, a contact form, comments, advertising, online payments, or first-party behavioral analytics.
We do not intentionally ask visitors to submit names, email addresses, phone numbers, school schedules, real-time locations, or other personal information through this site.
Protecting young people
Student safety matters more than publicity. We do not intentionally publish student personal contact information, birth dates, home addresses, class schedules, travel itineraries, or real-time locations.
Student names, images, biographies, or attributed work should be published only with appropriate team and family approval. Public technical work should focus on learning and engineering evidence rather than unnecessary personal details.
Embeds and external links
The BIOBUZZ Game & Roblox Simulation page embeds official YouTube videos and the FIRST Tech Challenge Competition Manual Assistant. Loading those embeds connects your browser to services operated by YouTube/Google and FIRST or their service providers. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and referring page, and may use cookies according to their own policies.
The site also links to services and websites operated by Roblox, FIRST, FTC Events, Google Maps, Microsoft, Lewis Middle School, Patribots, and other referenced organizations. Their privacy practices are controlled by them, not OtterBots.
Competition Manual Assistant: Do not enter personal data or sensitive information into the assistant. Its generated answers are not official rulings and should be checked against current official sources.
Technical records
This site is hosted through Cloudflare Pages. Like most web hosts and content-delivery networks, Cloudflare may process limited technical and security information needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect its network. OtterBots does not use those infrastructure records to create advertising profiles.
No website can promise perfect security. We limit risk by collecting little information, avoiding public submission forms, and keeping sensitive team data off the public website.
Control third-party connections
You may use browser privacy controls, block third-party cookies, decline the embedded assistant's cookie prompt, or open external resources in a separate browser profile. If you do not want embedded content to load, you can avoid the Simulation page and use the site's locally hosted pages instead.
When the site changes
We will update this page if OtterBots.org adds forms, analytics, account features, payment tools, or materially different third-party services. The effective date at the top will change when the policy is revised.
Questions about school or student records should be directed through appropriate Lewis Middle School or San Diego Unified School District channels, not through personal student contact information.
